Attorney General Miyares issues subpoena for release of LCPS sexual assault investigation

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. (7news) — On Friday, Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares filed a motion for a subpoena for the release of the independent investigation commissioned by Loudoun County Public Schools that reviewed how LCPS handled school sexual assaults, 7News reporter Nick Minock confirmed.

This comes after a Feb. 14, vote in which the Loudoun County School Board decided to not force LCPS administrators to release their independent review on how the school system handled two school sex assaults that happened in 2021.

Many parents have been calling for the release of the report for over a year now but former LCPS Superintendent Scott Ziegler and new interim Superintendent Daniel Smith have refused to show it.

If the internal report is released, the public would presumably find out what the school board and the Superintendent knew about the sex assaults and when they knew that information.
